There are a couple of things I miss about working for someone else. Paid vacation and sick leave top that list, but somewhere down around “not having to pay for everything when it breaks” and “having other people to give your problems too when they get too big” is the annual Christmas Party. We always had a great time at the company office party, and definitely, miss it.
Five years ago I decided it was time to organize my own Christmas party, and since I don’t have co-workers, I invited three of my best friends instead. Instead of going out and doing something expensive and extravagant, I invite them over to my house and feed them, make them do crafts, and force them to watch terrible Christmas movies.
Wednesday night was our 5th annual party, and it was fun and filling as usual! In fact, I somehow woke up this morning feeling fuller than when I went to bed, haha.

And in celebration of me finally getting a new phone, and my hopeful return to making some videos on an at least semi-regular basis, I made a short vlog to bring you along with me to the party! I edited it right on my phone this time so please forgive the less than stellar editing, but I hope you enjoy the festivities I put my friends through, haha.
And you know what? I’m not the only one who feels like they are missing out not getting to have a Christmas party, so today I’ve linked up with some of my East Coast Moms Media friends so we can all share our solo (or not quite solo) Christmas parties! I hope you’ll hop over to see what they were up to this year for their parties!

I LOVE that you invite friends to your party! That’s a great idea!

It really started as a thank you since I complain to them all year long about the things that you’d normally complain to coworkers about, haha. SO I figured they needed a little something for putting up with me!
Those sweaters are adorable. Happy Holidays, solo or otherwise. hahaha
Thanks – same to you!!!
Looks like so much fun – what a great idea to invite friends to the party!
A girl’s gotta do something so they don’t feel so alone, haha
Love the video! Also, those cookies look like they turned out great. Merry Christmas!
Thanks – same to you!
There was a moment when I was flooding all the cookies the night before when Rose reached up with her long old paw and gave my elbow a slap so one of the cookies had an odd shape to it, haha
