Hi everyone! We’ve made it to the last day of the gift guide! I hope you’ve found it to helpful, and that you’ve cmoe up with some new ideas for gifts for the people on your list!
Today I’m sharing another product I absolutely love – essential oils. I’ve been a big essential oils fan for most of my life. Peppermint has saved my life more times than I can count from cramps and headaches, but it wasn’t until more recently that I really got into essential oil blends.
Earlier this year I decided to join doTerra, not to build an empire, haha, but to get a discount on the oils and blends I was buying on a regular basis from Saje and other companies anyway. Why did I choose doTerra over YoungLiving? Not because I buy into the stories that one is SOOO much better than the other, I think they are both great, I simply chose doTerra because I have friend I’ve known my entire life who sells doTerra so I could sign up under her and know that she wouldn’t hassle me about hitting sales goals or building a team or anything like that. I just wanted to save a few bucks!
Anyway, the links contained in this post do go to my online doTerra store, so if you do make a purchase I’ll mae a few bucks, but trust me, I’m more interested in sharing with you the blends I’ve found really helpful in my life, more than I want the $5 I might earn.
While doTerra sells so many amazing blends, including a special blend for the holidays, for the sake of this gift guide, I’m sharing my three favourite blends for physical ailments as I felt they were the most useful ones to give as gifts this holiday season.
Easy Air, PastTense and ZenGest are the three blends I most recommend for common physical ailments.
Easy Air (which I believe is called Breathe in the US) is amazing for any respiratory issues. I have a soft spot at the top of my left lung, and very small nostrils with a deviated septum so breathing can sometimes be an issue for me. I like to rub some on my chest before bed, and diffuse some to really help clear my nasal passage. When you have a rollerball like these, the easiest wat to diffuse is by rolling some on the palm of your hand, then rub your hands together and then cup your hands over your nose and mouth and breathe in and out. You’ll be amazed at how effective this “personal diffuser” method can be.
In the middle of the night the other day I woke up with a stuffed nose, I did the “personal diffuser” method without ever getting out of bed and within 30 seconds my nasal passage was clear again – no joke.
Next up is PastTense. PastTense is a blend created to help release tension, and has become my favourite for headaches and neckaches. It’s made of a blend of Wintergreen Leaf, Lavender Flower, Peppermint Plant, Frankincense Resin, Cilantro Herb, Marjoram Leaf, Roman Chamomile Flower, Basil Leaf, and Rosemary Leaf essential oils. When I know I’m going to be in for a long day of travel, work or shopping I always through this in my bag to have incase a headache starts to settle in, it’s a life saver.
And I saved my absolute favourite for last – ZenGest (which is DigestZen in the US). You guys, I cannot tell you how many times this blend has saved my life. As a gal with IBS, I never know when my guts are going to decide to go crazy and give me indigestion, heartburn, bloating, or good old-fashioned abdominal cramping. ZenGest is with me 24/7. I keep it in my bag ALWAYS, I have some on my nightstand, an extra bottle in the bathroom – I cannot be without this blend.
The day of BlogJam, my stomach decided it would be a great day for mega bloating and mega cramping, which was super lovely. If it weren’t for my ZenGest and peppermint tea I don’t think I would have made it. Just ask Colleen, she caught me having to undo my pants for a while during one session because my stomach was being such a jerk. If you have someone with stomach issues (IBS, IBD, Celiac, etc.) giving them the gift of ZenGest will make you their favorite person for SURE. Rock star status right there.
Just like my post on the MediFlow pillow, giving essential oils might seem odd as first glance, but if you know that someone on your list has asthma or suffers from tension headaches or digestive issues, instead of it seeming a bit odd, it might be the most thoughtful gift you can ever give.
Where to Buy:
All of these blends can be purchased online through my shop (click shop at the top of the page), or if you are local you can contact me directly to place an order through me instead of online. If you are local and have a special request for a blend please contact me as I hand make blends for specific issues/concerns based on the oils I have on hand. You can email me at email@example.com. Or perhaps you know a doTerra or YL rep in your area. Talk to them! Young Living has different names for their blends and each company has slight differences in the blends they use but I know for certain you can find a similar blend through YL if you know a local rep – I’m sure they’d love to have your business!
Disclosure: I am an independent sales rep for doTerra so I will make a commission on any purchase made through the above links. Your support is greatly appreciated!
