Quick Baked Kale Chips

Hey everybody :D

I hope your Saturday is off to a wonderful start!  I thought this morning I’d share the recipe for kale chips I made up as I went along last night….

Normally when making kale chips I use this recipe for raw sour cream and onion kale chips but alas, I had no cashews so I decided to veer off on my own.

Quick Baked Kale Chips

Ingredients

  • kale
  • approx. 2Tbsp extra virgin olive oil
  • salt
  • optional seasoning of your choice (I used Epicure's 3-onion dip mix)

Instructions

  1. Preheat over to 350
  2. Take a head of kale and tear the leaves off of the tough stocks and tear up into chip sized pieces.
  3. Wash and dry the pieces of kale and put into a large bowl.
  4. Drizzle extra virgin olive oil over the kale and toss to coat
  5. Season to taste with salt & any other spices you desire.
  6. Toss to coat all the kale with your seasoning
  7. Place the seasoned kale pieces in a single layer over two cookie sheets covered with parchment paper and put them in the oven for 12-15 minutes - checking every 2 minutes once you hit the 10 minute mark. There is a fine line between crispy and crumbly kale chips!

Then you can dive in!  The only real problem I have with kale chips is they never last more than 15 minutes around here.  Somebody always eats the whole batch in one sitting ;)

Have you ever tried kale chips?  What’s your favourite flavour combo??
