Quick Baked Kale Chips
Hey everybody
I hope your Saturday is off to a wonderful start! I thought this morning I’d share the recipe for kale chips I made up as I went along last night….
Normally when making kale chips I use this recipe for raw sour cream and onion kale chips but alas, I had no cashews so I decided to veer off on my own.
Ingredients
- kale
- approx. 2Tbsp extra virgin olive oil
- salt
- optional seasoning of your choice (I used Epicure's 3-onion dip mix)
Instructions
- Preheat over to 350
- Take a head of kale and tear the leaves off of the tough stocks and tear up into chip sized pieces.
- Wash and dry the pieces of kale and put into a large bowl.
- Drizzle extra virgin olive oil over the kale and toss to coat
- Season to taste with salt & any other spices you desire.
- Toss to coat all the kale with your seasoning
- Place the seasoned kale pieces in a single layer over two cookie sheets covered with parchment paper and put them in the oven for 12-15 minutes - checking every 2 minutes once you hit the 10 minute mark. There is a fine line between crispy and crumbly kale chips!
Then you can dive in! The only real problem I have with kale chips is they never last more than 15 minutes around here. Somebody always eats the whole batch in one sitting
Have you ever tried kale chips? What’s your favourite flavour combo??
