BIG News! (No I’m not Pregnant)
Hi guys! Another week, another storm. We got a good foot or more of snow yesterday, and another couple inches overnight. I am so over winter. Our Nova Scotia groundhog predicted an early spring yesterday, I sure hope he is right!
I’ll be so happy when I can go outside without four hundred extra layers of clothes on! I was rebellious on Tuesday after teaching my noon hour Aqua class I left the athletics complex in this show stopper of an ensemble
(sorry about the photo quality – dark basement locker room + iPod camera with no flash = not so nice picture)
Nice right? Winter coat and scarf, lime green super short skort and winter books. I did have pants I could have put on but I was sweaty and didn’t want to peel the skort off and then try to get my pants on over sweaty, sticky skin. Besides, I only had to walk 50 or so feet from the building to my car.
Well, that was until I got to my car and remembered I needed to get gas…
Nothing like pumping your own gas in –15 (Celsius) weather while wearing a tiny lime green skort. At this point getting odd looks from people while wearing my crazy Zumba outfits is a regular occurrence. You should see the looks you get when wandering around the grocery store wearing these
But one always seems to forget they are wearing pants with straps hanging of their butt until after they’ve done their grocery shopping….
The Big News!
There are only a handful of people that know about this as it has just transpired in the past couple days – I’m going to Florida!!
Each year thousands of crazy Zumba instructors gather in Orlando for a huge Zumba Convention – and this year I’m going!
To give you an idea of just how big it is, here is a short video montage from the 2010 Zumbathon Fitness Concert from the 2010 Convention
total. insanity.
My buddy Holly and I are super excited. We’ve registered, booked our hotel room, booked our flights, the whole works! The only thing I feel bad about is that I’m going without my husband
but he is totally on board with me going.
So. Freaking. Excited.
As for our hotel, can you believe this is where we are staying??
Nope, I can’t believe it either.
Sadly I won’t get to go hang out with Mickey and Goofy at Disney World while we’re there
but we are planning a trip to SeaWorld. That coupled with the convention and this crazy awesome hotel will be more than enough to keep this girl giggling the entire trip!

OMG! That is great!! Yahh for you. When will you be experiencing this epic adventure?
Not until July – you know, when it’s hot as heck in Florida. No complaints here though – Florida is Florida!
Woooo hooooooo! Nothing is better than FL when there is snow on the ground! So exciting. I am jealous! Do you have a layover in dc
4 hours till Zumba, I am finally excited and not nervous!
For sure – except I forgot to say the trip isn’t until July… but at least I have something to look forward to during this stinky snow filled winter! Sadly my only stop on the way is New York
I would have loved to be able to hang with you for an hour or too!
Hey I forgot to ask – how did your class go!? Details Please!!
I am so thrilled for you. Will look for lots of kick ass moves when you get back!!!!! yeah for you!
Wow, that looks exciting! And who doesn’t want to go some place warm right about now!
Unfortunately I forgot to mention I don’t leave until July…so I’m still stuck here in a pile of snow – but it sure is nice to think about where I’ll be going. I didn’t even notice the snow storm yesterday, I was too busy planning my trip!
LOL, I’ll bet that there were a lot of comments made about that “crazy lady” in her bare legs!! You had better not have caught a cold due to your crazy actions…..what will we all do if you get sick?
I still say I’m travelling in your suitcase!!
Start working on your flexibility so you can get in my suitcase! If you had only signed up for the instructor training you could have gone to the whole thing with us!
[...] And yes, I’ve known it was crazy the whole time, but I took on *extra* classes to help offset the expense of my trip. Gladly, I can say that my trip is now totally paid for, and even more gladly I am down to [...]
[...] doesn’t start until 9 I’m heading to Holly’s house early so we can iron out a few details for our trip to Florida. I’m writing this as supper is baking away in the [...]
